Photographing the first days of a newborn baby is truly an incredible moment. We waited for a baby and a family that were so eager to have a new member and when Leo together with his beautiful parents arrived to our warm newborn baby photo session at our studio in Denver, we were busy having fun. As a luxury photographer, specializing in part of a family formation, I enjoy doing such photography sessions, maternity and newborn sessions, and creating photographs that become true family treasures.
Getting Lost into the Baby Moods
A very cool October morning in Denver, the session was preceded by an engaged preparation of the room for baby Leo’s photo shoot. Soft natural light poured in from outside through the window, while the room also offered the sound of a white noise machine steady in the background, a fitting environment for a sleeping baby. There are many women and many families at each session, and safety and comfortable space are parameters we guarantee and strive to enhance for the benefit of each family.
New moms don’t need to feel anxious as they can sit in a comfortable chair, nurse the baby and even enjoy some drinks. For babies, we use only the softest baby blankets, wraps, and props to protect the sensitive skin of the children.
Baby Leo: Sleepy Time Themed Stole
The moment baby Leo walked in he was a professional. He was wrapped in a warm cream color piece and he was asleep while we were getting him a shot for his port.
One of the highlights of the session was sentimental incorporations. Leo’s family brought a knitted blanket that his grandmother fashioned, and it formed the base for some pretty moving photos. One of the ways I am able to tell a family’s story through my work is by incorporating personal items in each photo session that has significance to the family.
A Promise to Safety:
Newborn photography, safety measures are paramount. Every pose and prop used is purposeful, planned, and appropriated to make sure everything is in place for the baby’s safety. There has been professional education in the area of newborn posing and handling, and thus all measures are systemic. Parents should worry less knowing that their baby is in ecocentric and zealous strikers.
